Heiress back with a bang

Proper Heiress returned with a smart sprint trial at Towcester.

Having already won the Ladbrokes Winter Derby and ARC Kent Plate this year, Proper Heiress was a leading fancy for the Star Sports/TRC Greyhound Deby at Towcester after landing a red-hot renewal of the Time Greyhound Nutrition Juvenile in April.

However, the Mark Wallis-trained dog made a shock exit from the Classic in the second round, and made his comeback with a pleasing 15.63 (-5) workout over 270m on Wednesday.

Also back in action was his kennelmate Mongys Wild, who posted 16.21 (-5) over the same sprint trip.

The October 2022 son of Roxholme Olaf was a dramatic late withdrawal from the Dorando Marathon on Derby final night when he was set to go off a very short-priced favourite.

The staying star set new track records in his unbeaten runs through the Time Greyhound Nutrition TV Trophy at Towcester and the PGR Golden Jacket at Monmore

Fellow Wallis inmate Vermithor also had a two-bend spin and he stopped the clock at 15.91 (-5).

The December 2023 whelp was a non-runner in the JR Racing Puppy Trophy final last month and he lines up in the JR Racing Juvenile Classic at the Northamptonshire track on Sunday.

Bombay Nutty was another notable runner from the Wallis kennel and the six-bend performer won his 500m trial in 29.35 (-10).
