Belinda Green kennel update - Teddie all set for Coronation Cup final

It's all systems go for the Belinda Green kennel with Hove taking place this evening then it's all eyes on Romford tomorrow night for the Coronation Cup final with Teddie lining up from T4.

Speaking about her Thursday night runners, Belinda Green said: “Bonoandutoo runs in the PGR Regency Trial Stakes Open Race at 7.33. It's his first attempt at six-bends, and we are going into the unknown. He stays on well over four bends, so let's see. If it doesn’t work out, we will drop back to four-bend graded action.’’

Next up was Swift Jarvis, who lines up from T6 in the Coral 695 Stayers Trophy Final at 8.07, Green said: “He’s a railer in T6, so it's not ideal. He’s not the quickest into stride, so he will be nearer last than first out of the second bend. It’s a very hard race and Romeo Empire (T1) will be the one they all have to beat.’’

Braydens Buddy who run from T6 in the PGR Regency Trial Stakes Open Race at 8.41. Green said: “We’ve only tried him on this trip once, and he got in all sorts of trouble. Let’s see how he goes. He stays on well over four-bends but is a little between trips at the moment.’’

The final runner from the Belinda Green kennel this evening was Guzzler in T6 at 9.16 and Green said this about the wide seed: “He’s coming back from an ear infection. This looks a hard race, but you never know with Guzzler, he can pop up and win. He’s well, and it’s good to get him back on the track.’’

Speaking about the upcoming Sussex Cup and PGR Regency competitions Green added: “They look like hot looking at some of the trials that have taken [place recently, and we haven’t really got anything to go to war with. Teddie and Gary The Arb will be more likely to head to Monmore for the Summer Stayers.’’

Moving onto Friday night, and it's all eyes on the London Road circuit Romford, with the £10,000 Coronation Cup Final taking centre stage at 9.11 over the six-bend 575-metre trip. Teddie lines up from T3 for Green, and she had this to say about the April 2023 daughter of Ballymac Cashout: "Six railers in the race, so its all on the break. If she pings the lids, she’s in with every chance. We’ve changed her routine recently. She had a habit of turning in the boxes so she can sometimes miss it, but all seems good recently. She needs to break like last week, then we are in with a shout.’’

Gary The Arb runs from T1 in the Romford Greyhound Owners Association Stayers Open Race at 9.46 and Green said: “He’s 100% fit and sharp but needs to find that level of consistency he had last year. We will most likely head to the Summer Stayers at Monmore with him. Last year he was robbed late on for a qualifying spot, but I think he’s staying on better now and has slightly changed his running style.''

Also running tomorrow evening at Romford is Ballymac Kinga from T6 in the Retired Greyhounds Love Sofas Maiden Stayers Open Race at 7.27. Green said: “She’s a law into herself really. If she leads, she's impressive; if she misses it, she doesn’t fancy it. She needs to be trap well tomorrow. We haven’t seen the best of her at Romford yet.’’

Boom Boom Bullet (T4 at 8.19) was next on the agenda and Green said: “She’s progressed nicely at Hove, winning in A5, A4 and more recently, A2 grade. She ran well in an Open Race at Hove last week and should stay this 575-metre trip well. It’s an unknown though and is all a learning curve for her.’’

Lilys Bullet runs from T2 in the Future Of Racing PGR Maiden Marathon at 8.36. Green said: “Lily is a frustrating one really. She looks like a strong stayer but often finds one too good around Hove. She’s running better than her form suggests. She ran well in defeat recently. Lily stays 575 metres strong, so this 750 metres should be right up her street.’’
