Mongys Wild is joint top at the head of the standings along with Acomb Felix.

2025 open race winners

We have just gone past the halfway mark of 2025. 2024 saw Druids Say Go pick up the most open race wins with 23, Laughil Jess took the honour in 2023 with 26 while Signet Goofy and Coolavanny Aunty shared the spoils in 2022 with 18 wins each.

Who will take home the most open race wins in 2025? These are the standings at the halfway mark.

13 - Acomb Felix & Mongys Wild

One of the favourite dogs currently in training for many in the 'office', Acomb Felix got off to a red-hot start to the year and has enough on the board to still be the top performing open race winner in the country.

It is a remarkable achievement that Mongys Wild has picked up those 13 open race wins from just 14 open race starts! An exceptional stayer, it is going to take a good one to beat him when the demands are on stamina.

11 - King Presley

The Arena Racing Company Kent Silver Salver finalist has produced a string of very strong winning efforts at his home track of Central Park this year. He also has wins at Hove and over 400m at Romford.

10 - Romeo Steel

There are few faster dogs in the country when this lad gets it right at the boxes. The natural speed to break the 305m track record at Nottingham but enough in the tank to go unbeaten though the BGBF Truframe Champion Stakes over 500m at Towcester.

9 - Alright Patricia, Bacon Roll, Head Count, Lion Heart, March On Freddie, New Destiny

David Lewis never shies away from the top stayers in the country with Alright Patricia and she has continued to do connections proud. The majority of her wins have come at Oxford but she has also scored at Towcester and Hove this year.

A bitch at the other end of the distance spectrum is Bacon Roll who has lit up Romford's 400m for Paul Burr. She put everyone on notice when stopping the clock at 23.37 there on her 2025 debut and has kept on winning since.

Head Count has enjoyed an excellent first half of the year, making the final of the Arena Racing Company Cesarewitch at Central Park. She was behind Garfiney Blaze in the final, one of just two defeats she has suffered at the track in 14 races there, 11 of those in 2025.

Sunderland has been a happy hunting ground for Carl Jackson's Lion Heart. Wins over both two and four bends and a clear love for the venue means that he has not been seen anywhere else since February.

Four different tracks have seen March On Freddie in winning action so far in 2025. The 491m at Central Park has arguably seen him at his best, runner-up in the Arena Racing Company Kent Plate to Proper Heiress. He also made the quarter-final of the English Derby.

Time is ticking on the career of New Destiny but she is just one open win away from double figures in 2025, having already gone north of 30 in her career.

A quick mention for Fabulous Sonique as well who will join this group on nine wins if she is successful in the Coral Coronation Cup final at Romford this evening.
