Sunday treble at Towcester for Michelle Brown
Michelle Brown recorded a 543/1 treble as she landed three of the seven opens at Towcester on Sunday afternoon.
Commanche (3/1) was the first to strike for the local handler as he stayed on well to deny Romeo Aragon by half a length in the Towcester Maiden Stayers.
Brown then had the one-two in the second division of the Towcester Standard, with Maggie Bombastic making all at 7/1 by a length and half from kennelmate Browns Girl, while Bombastic Magic defied odds of 16/1 to beat Kalukis Gamble by three-quarters of a length in division two of the Towcester Maiden.
Kevin Hutton looks to have a nice puppy on his hands in the shape of Kranky Dave (5/6 fav), who produced a demolition job in the first division of the Towcester Maiden with an impressive 28.79 (+10).
Making only his second start, the September 2023 son of Malachi and Hillview Queen took a while to get going but the way he surged into the lead down the far side before powering seven and a quarter lengths clear of Glory Lord was very impressive.
Seamus Gaughan’s Doohoma Princess justified even-money favouritism when landing the Towcester Stayers in trap-to-line fashion by a length and a half from Bogger Cash, while Kilara Berb (2/5fav) landed the odds for Ellie Field with a two-length success in the Towcester Sprint.
The Craig Morris-trained Flashing Fender (8/11fav) was well supported in the first division of the Towcester Standard and duly obliged in 29.25 (+20), albeit by only a short head from Untold Zloty.
Killieford Hanna went fastest in the heats of the Alan Dobbin Derby at Star Pelaw on the evening.
The Roy Smith-trained 1/2 favourite raced into an early lead and never looked like being caught as he crossed the line five and half lengths clear of Return Package in 25.50, with Westfield Vicky back in third.
Glenn Foot’s Ballinabola Eve (9/2) was just nine spots slower as he just came out on top in his duel with Popper Joe, whileGlenvale Bjorn finished a long way behind in third.
Savva Roberts took the first heat courtesy of 9/4 chance Trooper Mcevoy, who clocked 25.91 when just holding Emilys Superstar by a neck, and Swift Falsify took the final qualifying spot.
Moolah made first run count in the Star Sports Bet On-Course Maiden 435 Final, as the Robert Rotherham’s dog got inside Smell The Bucks at the first bend before going on to beat that rival by three and half lengths in 25.77.
Joanne Atkins completed a hat-trick in the other three opens on the card at Chester-le-Street circuit.
Swift Ukraine (5/6fav) got up late to strike over 590m, while his kennel companions King Stevie (9/2) and Queen Etta(2/1) both scored over 245m.
There were also three opens at Sheffield where Good Knick completed a course double in the division one of the Owlerton Stadium Standard .
Sean Davy’s charge showed a nice burst of early speed to turn in front and went on to beat Wraysbury Katie by four lengths in 28.90 (+20).
Are Malikian (evens fav) made all in division two with a length to spare over Loxleys Forest, while Singalong Rex sprang an 8/1 surprise when a facile winner of the 480m contest in a rapid 27.49 (+20).
