Joe's Monday Tips

Six opens at Nottingham this evening over two, four and six bends including the Arena Racing Company Stayers Final over 680m at 9.28pm.

The first open of the night is the ARC Winner Of One Standard Trophy at 7.44pm over 500m that can go to trap three Swift Home. She is a local A1 winner who ran well over the 480m trip last week from an unfavourable trap five draw. She should clear the inside pair and as long as she finds herself in front of Glenhead Sam and Phoenix Cowboy from the second bend, she can pull away to extend the gap before holding on from Droopys Stat in the latter stages.

At 8.01pm trap one Stonepark Wes can take the ARC Standard Trophy. He has the slow starting Coffee Time Guys on his outside in trap two so if he can trap and clear Bridefort Lady in three, he should go round in front, where he should not be for catching. Invergarry in trap six will be better suited to the 500m and looks a big threat to Stonepark Wes but I am with the Kinsley raider to lead and make all.

The ARC Maiden Sprint over 305m is the third open at 8.36pm where Gerry Ballentine’s Noels Shadow takes all the beating from trap one. He is yet to have a competitive race in the UK but a 16.11 sprint trial at Perry Barr sets a very high standard in a race that should not take much winning. A level break should be enough for Noels Shadow to win on UK debut.

The ARC Sprint Trophy takes place at 8.54pm over the 305m again where trap four Rental Crisis can continue his rich vein of form by completing a five timer. His recent best run of 17.93 over C&D would be comfortably quicker than what his rivals this evening would be capable of so if trapping on terms he can assert into the first bend and put the race to bed at an early stage.

The ARC Winner Of One Standard Trophy over 500m at 9.11pm is the fifth open on the card and looks a competitive affair. I will be with trap one Jaymir Arlo who is well drawn on the inside to take advantage. She needs to pop out and lead the likes of Pulleen Dasher and Noels Spider and if doing so there should not be anything in the race capable of back running her so I am with Jaymir Arlo to lead and make all.

The final open of the night is the Arena Racing Company Stayers Final over 680m at 9.28pm. Loxleys Forest beat Vale Bluebell comfortably enough in the heats last week. However, I am with Vale Bluebell to reverse the form with the former as I think she can turn closer to Loxleys Forest than she did last week. I expect Wolf Gold and Loxleys Forest to take the field along so as long as Vale Bluebell can turn in front of Wolf Moon and Slippy Nora, she can reel in the early pacesetters.
