Joe's Friday Tips - 20 June

***8.19 Romford - Fabulous Sonique (4pts) 6/4
**8.36 Romford - Brigadir Brindle (3pts) EVS
*8.01 Romford - Hogans Hawk (2pts) 11/10

Six heats of the Coral Coronation Cup over 575m feature at Romford this evening.

The nap of the evening runs in heat five of the Coronation Cup at 8.19pm where trap three Fabulous Sonique returns to her favourite track  and a level break can see her get the better of Radical Scoby and Keefill Goose. She has been in good form in defeat at Towcester, so returning to her ideal track can bring out the best in her by tracking Keefill Goose and Ballymac Kinga before making her move heading into the fifth bend where she can assert and put the race to bed.

The next best runs in the final heat six at 8.39pm where trap six Brigadir Brindle can come on for last week's run when fifth in a warm trial stakes. He takes a big drop in class this evening and if coming on for last week's return to racing as expected, Brigadir Brindle should have too much for his rivals, with Teddie and Cree Bono the main dangers to the selection. However, if Brigadir Brindle comes away and gets a clear run, then he should win comfortably.

The third bet for the evening is trap one Hogans Hawk in heat four of the Coronation Cup at 8.01pm. She has taken to Romford with a C&D best 35.17 victory in a very warm trial stakes last week and she can continue where she left off to win a race that hasn’t got blistering early pace in, so she can use the draw to her advantage on the inside to turn extremely handy. She is capable of leading but if turning close enough, then she should prove too strong for her rivals.

Heat one at 7.11pm can go to trap two Untold Pangaa in a trappy affair. Ante-post favourite New Destiny should not make any mistakes in heat two at 7.27pm, while Avongate Venus can make the transition to a sharp six bends a successful one by taking heat three at 7.44pm.

At Sunderland, we have two semi-finals of the ARC Puppy Trophy where Slingshot Poppy can get the better of Santas Amigo in semi-final one at 8.17pm, and Jacktavern Chief can come on for last week's second in the heats by taking semi-final two at 8.37pm.
