Angel of The North Next for Icemans Girl
Nathan Hunt kennel update – Icemans Girl, Scooby The Boss, Bang On Edith and Bridefort Lady all set for Newcastle trials.
The Time Greyhound Nutrition Northern Flat will be next on the agenda for Derby Plate third Scooby The Boss, with the Arena Racing Company Angel of The North next for Icemans Girl.
Nathan Hunt reported both have come out of Towcester well and they will now head to Newcastle for trials before a tilt at the main events in July.
Speaking about Icemans Girl, Hunt said: “We thought about the Coronation Cup at Romford but ideally, we want to keep her to four-bends now.
"She (Icemans Girl) will head to Newcastle for a trial and then be aimed at the Category Two Arena Racing Company Angel of The North in July.
"Bridefort Lady will also trial with the Angel of The North the target next month.
“She’s gone through the grades nicely in recent months. She runs on Saturday morning in an A1 and should go well.”
Bang On Edith is another from the Hunt kennel heading to the North East for a trial over the coming days and she will then be aimed at the Angel of The North. Before that, Edith runs in the Rosewood Bitches Invitation open at Romford on Saturday evening at 9.32.
Scooby The Boss will also trial next week with the Category One Time Greyhound Nutrition Northern Flat firmly in his sights. Scooby ran a cracker in the PricedUp.Bet Derby Plate final at Towcester over the 500-metre trip, finishing third behind Romeo Tomcat and Kilmore Dancer.
Attention then turned to Untold Paanga, who runs in heat one of the Coronation Cup at 7.11 this evening at Romford.
Hunt added: “It’s a decent race, but on his best form he can win. He has some nice wins on his card and is a 35.10 performer when he gets it right at the boxes."
Talking about the preparation for the competition, Hunt went onto say: “We went to Hove for a change of scenery a couple of weeks ago and then last week returned to Romford, he would have come on for that run and, with a smart sectional, he should go well.”
