TED ON FIRE: Ran from Trap 4 in the 7.06 at Yarmouth on Monday 16th June

There was plenty of support for the John Mullins trained Ted On Fire at Yarmouth on Monday, with the January 24 debutant being sent off as 8/11F for this A6 contest.

The support looked to be justified when Ted On Fire raced into a lead of a couple of lengths. That lead was maintained until the run for home, when Ted On Fire just seemed to check his stride close home, allowing Agincourt Adam to pounce late to land the spoils.

Whether it was greenness or something caught his eye is unclear, but he ought to benefit from that run and with improvement, could go one place better next time out.

TRAVEL SAFE: Ran from Trap 1 in the 7.22 at Yarmouth on Monday 16th June

The first of three runners in this column for trainer Craig Morris. This February 24 youngster suffered a costly defeat on debut last time out having found trouble in running when sent off at Evs F, but landed some compensation in style on Monday night.

Sent off at 4/6F, Travel Safe hit the front rounding the opening bends in this A5 race, but wasn’t able to build up a huge lead, and at the third bend, faced pressure on the inside from Murrow Toaster in Trap 2.

However, she showed good tenacity to shut the door on that rival, and was able to draw clear thereafter, to record a 4 ¾ length victory in 28.48. Only a baby and sure to have more to come over the next few weeks

GOOD PEARL: Ran from Trap 4 in the 7.39 at Yarmouth on Monday 16th June

The second runner from the Craig Morris kennel as Good Pearl showed why she could be the one to side with next time out when finishing runner up on Monday night at 6/4.

This September 23 whelp made her second start since returning from seasonal rest in late April and went close to making all the running, leading for a long way until picked up on the run for home. She won an A5 back in mid April and was a good runner up in her double bid in A4 subsequently before seasonal rest, and both defeats since have come in A6.

Her fitness will be improving by the week, and she looks to be a winner waiting to happen if able to hit the front early again.

INFORTHERUN: Ran from Trap 3 in the 7.56 at Yarmouth on Monday 16th June

Erica Samuels is the next trainer to have a useful looking puppy on their hands in the shape of Infortherun.

This February 24 youngster showed a good burst of early pace on debut on Monday night in A3, and having disputed proceedings into the first bend, she bumped kennelmate Epic Fire out of the way to build up a winning lead and never looked to be in any trouble at any stage, crossing the line in front with a 4 length margin to score in 27.93 (+10) at odds of 7/2.

A similar burst of early pace could see her hit the front again next time out, and with improvement to come, could prove tough to reel in on the run for home.

EASY LIBERTY: Ran from Trap 4 in the 8.31 at Yarmouth on Monday 16th June

The third of Craig Morris’s eyecatchers improved on her promising third place finish on debut last time out with a good performance to land a first victory here.

February 24 pup Easy Liberty was sent off at 4/5F for this A7 contest and rewarded backers with a commanding victory having led in the early stages. However, Wicked Freebie in Trap 1 got on her inside round the second bend to hit the front, and may have given favourite backers a moments worry, but Easy Liberty showed good pace down the back and drove into the third bend to regain the lead.

From then on, it was plain sailing as she drew clear to score by 4 ¾ lengths in a time of 28.28 (+10). Hopefully the grader is lenient and only gives her a one grade penalty, though a two grade rise will be more likely, though she still has plenty more to offer in the coming weeks and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see her scoring again next week
