Newcastle have attracted a good entry for the Time Greyhound Nutrition Northern Flat & Arena Racing Company Angel of the North which get underway at the North East track on Thursday

Having been won last year by Wicky Ned, who later went on to become GBGB Greyhound Of Thr Year for 2024, the undoubted clash of the first round of the Time Greyhound Nutrition Northern Flat see's Tom Heilbron's StarSports/TRC Derby Semi Finalist Droopys Bookem up against Fenwick's Bresbet Gymcrack and Arena Racing Company Puppy Final winner Elusivenomore and Ted Soppitt's 2024 StarSports/TRC Derby Finalist Sunnyside Broxi in the first heat at 7.27pm

Heat three looks to be another competitive affair with the likes of Fenwick's Ballymac Lineout, John Flaherty's Naochra, Mark Bulmer's Fraser and Tom Heilbron's Deliveroo al bringing useful form to the table.

Likely Ante-Post favourite for the Arena Racing Company Angel of the North, the Nathan Hunt trained Icemans Girl , owned by Darts superstar Gerwyn Price, also lines up in the first heat in the first race of the evening at 6.37pm. Having won well at the track last week, she will no doubt be a short priced favourite when heading towards the traps.

Hunt will be making the long journey up from Cambridgeshire and has runners in both competitions so will be hoping that the long journey will be worthwhile. Bang On Edith, who goes in the last heat of the Arena Racing Company Angel of the North at 8.54pm looks one who has solid claims for making it through to the Semi Final stage with an all the way success

The final's of both competitions will form part of the next Gone To The Dogs Live! show on Thursday 24th July, the first production since the StarSports/TRC Greyhound Derby Final at Towcester in June.
