Greyhoundrehoming.com launches a new campaign
A couple of famous faces have been brought in by greyhoundrehoming.com for a new video released late last week on X. Former Yorkshire and England cricketer Darren Gough is joined by Sky Sports Golf presenter Iona Stephen to visit Romford Retired Greyhounds to meet some of the dogs there looking for a home.
The pair are hands on with the dogs out for a walk while they talk to staff about the greyhounds. They go over the misconceptions that greyhounds will need a lot of exercise and explain that they are the perfect pets for people of any age. There are plenty of older greyhounds who would be a perfect companion to those who are slightly later in life, they aren't just pets for the younger generations.
Gough sums the breed up perfectly when he says, "they're my type of dog. They love sleeping, they love going for a walk to the pub. They love eating and the biggest thing that surprised me is just how easy they are to walk. When they come back from a walk, they just want to lay down and watch tv."
The video has already been seen by more almost 900,000 people on the tweets just from Gough and Stephen alone. The reach has been pushed further with a string of likes and retweets which are helping to get the message out there that they make such wonderful pets.
