Janssens receives Greyhound Racing UK Greyhound of the Month award for June 2025 for Droopys Plunge, who trials at Nottingham tonight
The Greyhound Writers Association has announced that the Greyhound Racing UK Greyhound of the Month award for June has been won by Droopys Plunge. Successful in the final of the Star Sports & TRC English Greyhound Derby at Towcester on June 14, the Patrick Janssens-trained son of Droopys Sydney stayed on best to claim the £175,000 prize.
The award was presented to Patrick and wife Cheryl by Gone To The Dogs Live! presenter Dani Jackson at Hove on Saturday night in the absence of Droopys Plunge, who was relaxing back at home in anticipation of his first four bend trial since the Derby Final at Nottingham this evening, as part of his preparations for the Arena Racing Company Select Stakes, which take place three weeks today on August 25.
The Greyhound Writers Association will choose the runners for the £12,500 to the winner contest on August 20, with the draw being made on August 21
