Irish Performance of the Week

2025 has been an incredible year so far for Seven Beach. Jennifer O'Donnell's charge is less than two months away from becoming a veteran but he is in the form of his life, winning the Boylesports Champion Stakes on Saturday night to go along with his Tote Gold Cup and Droopys Stud Select Stakes wins from earlier in the year.

A double up in the Irish Performance of the Week for Rolo Tokyo at Dundalk. Behind the exceptional Magical Luka on his first three starts, he has only had seven starts in his life, producing a step in the right direction in terms of performance with almost all of them. He set the quickest 525y time of the year and then went another five spots quicker last week.

Montalto Hawk produced the third quickest time of the year at Drumbo over the 335y distance. The move to a wider starting position certainly didn't seen to be any issue as he produced by far the best run of the four so far in his career. He is also the youngest on the list this week.

The quick recent times at Tralee continued with Ballymac Kamala. She now has three of the seven fastest times of the year over the 525y trip, a 28.13 on June 20 with three spots shaved off that on June 27.  Although her time last week was a touch slower, her consistency on the clock has been noteworthy.

A quick note too for one of the favourite dogs of this column. Kapuka Warrior was the Kilkenny winner a few weeks back and the consistent veteran got his name on the sheet again. He has been the performance of the week winner on multiple occasions and the veteran continues to produce strong efforts.
