Irish Performance of the Week - 3 June 2025
We take a look at the top performance at each of the Irish Greyhound Racing tracks from the last week.

Irish Performance of the Week
We start this week with the quarter-finals of the Sporting Press Irish Oaks. Glengar Martha was the fastest of the four winners and saw off some smart times over other trips to take the Shelbourne award for the week. She is unbeaten in three rounds of the competition so far with a huge amount of consistency shown for Pat Buckley.
One of the most progressive types in Ireland at the moment is Magical Luka. He has won all four of his starts so far, the first three at Dundalk before turning his attention to Tralee. Not only did he show that 500y was no issue for him, he was only a touch over two weeks shy of the track record that was set last year by Daleroad Devon!
Last week at Lifford it was Sniper Big Tom who won the award. This week it was his litter brother Sniper Big Joe who went a single spot quicker than his brother had. It could be an interesting ongoing battle to keep an eye on.
It was an impressive duck-breaking win for Amarach Laoch at Curraheen Park. He had shown a fair level of ability in his first five starts of his career but absolutely took off to clock the sixth quickest time of the year over 525y.
Another to produce the sixth quickest time of the year was Hollybanks at Newbridge. It was his last run as a pup and was a long way clear of the form that he had in the book to this point. It will be interesting to see if he is able to back up this effort now that he has got his head in front.
Magical Mag was just five spots shy of the fastest 525y time of the year so far at Galway. She is a litter sister to Daleroad Devon and a half-sister to the likes of Grouchos Duke and Magical Luna.
