Friday Night Open Report - Locke with a Romford Treble
There were open races at both Romford and Sunderland on Friday evening

Another Bonville treble at Romford
There was a treble for Maxine Locke at Romford on Friday night. Droopys Manowar got the better of a pair of Friday night stalwarts in Bacon Roll and Whitewood Lenny to land a 23.81 success. The other two wins both came over 575m courtesy of Droopys Rosie and Out The Blue.
Pro Parker was an impressive scorer again for Michelle Brown with the quickest time of the night over 400m, 23.71. Dave Lee's Grove Patrick backed up his maiden heat win last week in the final, scoring by more than five lengths despite a trickier draw.
Brindle Moon was a surprise winner of the sprint contest for Martyn Wiley, getting the better of Tullymurry Dylan. It was a solid 13.42 effort to continue the smart recent times of winners over the 225m distance.
There was a third win in the last four starts for Untold Paanga over 575m for Nathan Hunt. He clocked a slick 35.01 in the process to lead all times over the six-bend trip during the evening.
It would not be a Friday night at Romford without a winner for Paul Young who got on the scoreboard courtesy of Bombay Buck. Indian Floyd was the winner of the other contest for Jason Gornall.
Heilbron and Roberts at the double at Sunderland
It was a good evening for the Newcastle trainers at Sunderland. Madabout Peck really has the bit between his teeth at present for Tom Heilbron, winning for the fifth time in his last eight starts. His 27.22 was not as fast as his kennelmate Brinkleys Betty produced as she sprung an 11/1 surprise.
Savva Roberts picked up his double with Stonepark Hoffa and Steadyon Marlene. The former has four of the five quickest times over the sprint trip at the track in 2025. The latter is a pup who picked up her first open race win last night.
The Dean Blackbird team saw Nah Then Keefill win for them, inflicting the first sprint defeat on Sunnyside Jayden at the track in the process. Innfield Ciara won for Yvonne Bell to claim the sole six-bend open on the night.
