Droopys Plunge shortens after Derby final draw

Punters take the Plunge on Droopys

Droopys Plunge has been slashed by the bookmakers following Monday’s draw for the Star Sports/TRC English Greyhound Derby final.

The Patrick Janssens-trained dog was 25/1 with the sponsors yesterday morning but he is now just 12/1 after being drawn in trap one for the £175,000 decider at Towcester on Saturday.

It will be first time that he has worn the red jacket in the Classic and, given his tendency to edged towards the inside, it could be ideal for him.

The November 2022 son of Droopys Sydney and Droopys Sweet hasn’t won a heat since the first round, but he has been very consistent and stayed on well for third behind Bockos Diamond and Cheap Sandwiches in the semi-finals.
