Derby fundraising success for Greyhound Homing UK
Greyhound Homing UK exceeded their £10,000 fundraising target during the Derby at Towcester.


Greyhound Homing UK smashed their target during the Star Sports/TRC Greyhound Derby fundraising campaign at Towcester.
Raising money for Greyhound Homing UK’s partner homing centres, the aim to was reach £10,000 throughout the Classic and the final figure exceeded £10,700.
The campaign was run for the entirety of the Derby by Greyhound Homing UK and a dedicated team of volunteers helping at the track with their retired greyhounds. Peaceful Pets, Home Run Hounds, Barley Kennels and Crossing Cottage were all present at the track and especially generous with their time during the last five weeks.
Other notable helpers include Emma Shortland and Ronnie who didn't miss a meeting during the Derby, Liv and Beth Noble with Forrest, Ben Collins and his family with Bunny, Sandra O'Sullivan and Rebel (formerly Faughan Rebel), Lorraine Sams and Carly Philpott with Florence and Deedee, plus Scott Boyden with Mysty on Derby final night.
Everything led up to Saturday's Derby final night when the winners of the raffle were announced and a total of £2,600 in prizes was up for grabs.
Michael Coupland won the £1,000 first prize and very kindly donated £200 of his winnings to the fundraising campaign, while Lee Craze gave all of the £500 he won for third prize back to Greyhound Homing UK.
Crowd favourite Pablo The Pup with Heather Dimmock was back for his fifth consecutive Derby fundraiser and he was virtually ever-present throughout the competition. Pablo proved as popular as ever, selling cuddles for fun and winning the hearts of everyone he met.
Congratulations to Gail May and Greyhound Homing UK for a fantastic effort and the cash raised will provide a huge help to their homing partners.
