The Category One £10,000 JR Racing Juvenile Classic went to the Patrick Janssens kennel with Romeo Alliance showing excellent middle pace to win over the four-bend 500-metre trip at Towcester.

Sent off as the ½ favourite, the October 2023 son of Romeo Magico slightly missed the break but then paced up well into the corner to challenge littermate Romeo Ability (T2) and kennelmate Not So Steady who ran from T4.

Not So Steady hit the front out of the second bend, but the writing was on the wall with strong staying Romeo Alliance driving up his inside. At the third bend, Romeo Alliance kicked for home and it was all over bar the shouting off the final bend as he powered clear to land the prize for his connections.

Not So Steady finished second beaten three and a half lengths, with Romeo Ability a further ¾ length back in third, making it a one, two, three for the Janssens kennel.

Romeo Alliance has now won three on the bounce around Towcester and looks a top-class prospect for all the leading four-bend competitions over the coming months. Romeo Alliance is available at a standout 40s with Bresbet for the 2026 English Greyhound Derby.
