Joe's Thursday Tips

Nine open races at Hove this evening including three heats of a 500m Standard competition and three heats of a 500m Maiden Competition.

We kick off with the three heats of the Coral 500 Standard Trophy at 6.59pm where trap four Chelms Wild can get the better of Tea For Me who will have to work hard to get things his own way.

Heat two at 7.16pm can go the way of trap six Venetian Lad who drops back in trip having been running over 650m at Oxford including a run behind Hunt Cup winner Hogans Hawk.

The improving Amazing Zeus should take Heat Three at 7.33pm from trap one. He was a good winner last weekend from the same box over this C&D and looks set to go well again this evening.

The Coral 500 Maiden kicks off with heat one at 7.49pm where trap three Robbies Galaxy takes all the beating. A very impressive Irish card behind the likes of Derby hopeful Bombay Pat, Golden Jacket hopeful Deadly Disco and victories against the likes of Superfast Gordon stand him in good stead this evening.

The second heat at 8.07pm should go the way of trap two Bossy Bullet who has been behind Baywatch Bullet, Scooby Pacemaker and Ower Cracker on her last three starts so takes a huge drop in class this evening where she can take advantage and make that pay.

Trap four Moving Force can repay backers by taking heat three at 8.24pm. He has been costly to follow in three competitive starts but has plenty of time in hand following his 29.20 trial two weeks ago and if getting a clear run he should have more than enough to be this evenings rivals.

The Coral Thursday Night 695 Maiden Stayers at 8.41pm can see trap four Empiricism confirm the form with Lilys Bullet who was just under three lengths behind the former last week when holding every chance. Empiricism will need to get loose early and hold on but ran a valiant second last week and can go one better.

At 8.59pm we have the Coral Thursday Night 285 Sprint where trap three Robbies Glory can get his UK campaign off to a winning one. 16.27 and 16.20 trials over C&D are impressive clocks and a repeat of that would see him go close tonight.

The final race of the evening is the Coral Thursday Night 515 at 9.16pm looks a match race between Kevins Rocket in trap one and Ower Cracker in trap three. I am going to be with the former on the draw who will run in the Star Sports / TRC Greyhound Derby next week so will be looking to head into the competition on the back of a victory this evening.
