Romford selections for Friday night

***6.53 Romford - Le Pur Sang (4pts) 6/4
**8.01 Romford - Whitewood Libre (3pts) 6/5
*9.11 Romford - Betting Buddies (2pts) 11/4

Plenty of open race action to get stuck into at Romford this evening, kickstarting another busy weekend of top class racing.

The nap of the evening is trap four Le Pur Sang in heat one of the Friday Night 500 Standard at 6.53pm. Tardy enough starts and bits of trouble have found Le Pur Sang with too much on his plate to be able to get his head in front in recent weeks but this evening's race looks an ideal opportunity for him to show what he is capable of. The 400m trip is the minimum distance for him but as long as he can turn close enough behind Ronnies Oscar who, if trapping, can hold the rest of the early pacers up, he should be able to assert from the second bend to hit the front by the time they turn for home where his strong running style over this trip can come into play.

Whitewood Libre is the next best in heat one of the Romford Friday Night 500 Stayers at 8.01pm. She was an impressive winner seven days ago in a race that was stronger than she faces tonight. She came from off the pace to catch Airtech Amigo seven days ago but that would not be her usual style of running over this trip. However, she should be able to get off the front tonight in a race lacking any real early pace bar Snoozing Jimmy who is capable from his wide draw in six. If Whitewood Libre does lead early there should not be anything in the race capable of catching the Coronation Cup finalist.

The third bet of the evening is trap six Betting Buddies in the Romford Friday Night 500 Maiden Final at 9.11pm. He was majorly impressive in the heats seven days ago and looks well drawn to go well again from trap six. There is decent enough early pace in the race but Betting Buddies brings a solid Irish card with impressive Shelbourne Park 480m runs that stand out in the context of this race. He is capable of getting a clear run out wide, so as long as he avoids any first bend trouble, he can prove too strong for the likes of Bedrock Bella in trap who needs to get clear of Exve Strike in two in the early stages.
